Hedge woundwort

It isn’t ‘in your face’ beautiful but if you stop and look you will see it has such pretty petals with white markings to help the bees find their way to the nectar.  It is the stuff of our English hedgerows and grows abundantly, often camouflaged by nettles. Medieval herbalists believed it stemmed the flow of blood hence its name, and to me just the  name of Watership Downs’ ‘General Woundwort’ is legend enough.
